Prateek Sadhu is the executive chef and co-owner of Masque, an innovative restaurant in Mumbai, that crafts seasonal and sustainable dishes using exclusively local ingredients. Prateek honed his skills in some of the world's most prestigious kitchens, including Alinea, The French Laundry, Bourbon Steak, Le Bernardin, and several Michelin-starred establishments across Europe. His tenure at Noma under the guidance of Rene Redzepi was particularly formative. He continued to flourish during his stints at The Pierre Hotel in New York and as sous chef at Le Cirque in Bangalore.

Born in Kashmir in 1986, Prateek's early years were steeped in the rich culinary traditions of his family, learning the fundamentals of cooking from his aunt and mother. This early exposure ignited a deep-seated passion for food, leading him to abandon his initial plans to become a commercial pilot. Instead, Prateek pursued his culinary dreams, enrolling in hotel management school in India and subsequently graduating with double gold medals from The Culinary Institute of America.

Before establishing Masque, Prateek contributed his culinary talents to esteemed hotel chains such as Taj and Leela. Today, Prateek Sadhu stands as one of India's top chefs, renowned for his adventurous approach to flavors and his ability to create new, exciting dishes that reflect both his roots and his innovative spirit.

Under Prateek’s leadership, Masque quickly distinguished itself as a trailblazer in India’s culinary scene, earning a reputation for constant innovation and numerous accolades. 

The restaurant’s dedication to sustainability was recognized globally, with Masque ranking among the top 10 on Food Tank’s 2016 list of restaurant innovators worldwide.

 That same year, Prateek was honored as the ‘Most Innovative Chef of the Year’ by the Western Culinary Association of India. His contributions were further recognized when he was named the  ‘Chef of the Year’ at the Conde Nast Traveller Top Restaurant Awards in December 2017, and in 2018, Masque was ranked #5 on the prestigious list.
